Dental Treatment

Just like their pet-parents, dogs and cats are likely to develop dental problems over time. Studies show that up to 90% of dogs develop some form of periodontal disease by the time they are two, and up to 70% of cats show signs of a painful condition where the tooth structure breaks down. 360º Care lets you claim costs to treat issues like gingivitis or tooth extraction.

Included in your base policy

With 360º Care Addon

While our policy does not include general dental check-ups and routine teeth cleanings, it does cover the cost of certain dental illness. With 360º Care you can claim costs of dental procedures or dental surgery performed to treat issues like gingivitis or periodontal disease.

Supportive Therapies

If your pet has had treatment for an illness or injury, recovery can be sped up or enhanced with supportive therapies such as physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and even acupuncture (yes, really!). Studies have shown that physiotherapy and hydrotherapy significantly improve the size and strength of the thigh muscle in dogs that have undergone knee surgery, and the range of motion is also improved. 360º Care lets you claim the costs of some of these therapies to help your pet fully recover and get back on their feet quickly.

With 360º Care Add-on

Behavioural Problems

Behavioural problems can be a sign of a deeper problem. Just like us, pets can suffer from stress, anxiety and other mental illnesses. If you notice your pet exhibiting behaviours such as excessive licking, fur-pulling, pacing or destructive chewing, vet treatment might be necessary to help them recover. 360º Care lets you claim costs for vet consultation and treatment to address behavioural problems.

Billy and Jerry (his rescue ragdoll)

I took out insurance with Pet Circle late last year for my one year old rescue Ragdoll, Jerry and I'm very glad I did. I'm an anxious pet parent at the best of times, and he is our very special furbaby! Jerry had a few stomach issues and having insurance meant we didn't think twice about taking him to the Vet. We were able to give him the care he needed without worrying about what it might cost us. Pet Circle insurance were really easy to deal with and my claim was paid super quickly.

Manis and Pique (her Bluey)

Pique (my Bluey) and I used to get our insurance from another company. Many people warned me about the pre-existing conditions assessment when I decided to switch. But since moving to Pet Circle, we've seen significant savings. We now only pay our $150 excess once per year - with our last provider, it was $200 for every single claim! Vet visits are no longer a worry. Thanks, Pet Circle Insurance!

Frequently Asked Questions

Pet insurance provides coverage for unexpected veterinary expenses that your pet may require in times of illness or injury. In other words, it is used to cover surprise veterinary bills that are challenging to budget, as opposed to routine expected healthcare maintenance costs, such as vaccinations and parasite preventatives. It is a reimbursement program which means you initially cover the cost of the veterinary expense and submit a claim to be reimbursed.

Unexpected bills can be tricky to budget for, and no pets are excluded from the possibility of illnesses or injuries. Having peace of mind that you can go ahead with the medical or surgical treatment your pet requires when sick or injured can let you focus on providing what they need rather than worrying about the cost and how you will afford it. However it is important to remember that not all conditions are covered, such as Pre-existing Symptoms and Conditions (including those that arise with a relevant Exclusion Period).

Dogs and cats.

Our policy has been designed for pets, so it does not provide cover for cats or dogs that participate in commercial or sporting activity, such as working (including work on a farm), fighting, racing, personal protection, gun sports, law enforcement or guarding.

Our policy may cover dogs and cats who are training for, participate in, or are, show dogs/cats, search and rescue dogs, guide dogs or assistance dogs

Pet Circle Insurance does not provide cover for the cost of preventative and routine items such as health examinations and tests, vaccinations, grooming, food, parasite prevention and supplements. It also does not provide coverage for any Pre-existing Symptoms and Conditions, including conditions that have arisen within a relevant Exclusion Period. Furthermore, any elective procedure such as desexing or additional vet costs such as after-hours fees or house-call costs when a vet does not consider it an emergency are not covered.

Pre-existing Symptoms and Conditions are is defined as: An Injury, Illness, Dental Illness, Behavioural Problem or Specified Condition (including Bilateral Conditions, and other conditions that are related to, secondary to, or results of) that:

  1. First occurred or showed symptoms of, or
  2. Was identified or investigated by a Vet, or
  3. You were aware of or a reasonable person in the circumstances could be expected to have known about, before Your Pet’s First Date of Cover, before any applicable Exclusion Period has finished, or if You increase Your cover before a change of cover became effective.

If you purchase a policy with 360º Care extras, it will include coverage for dental illness such as dental disease, gingivitis and periodontal disease as long as it is not Pre-existing Condition (including those arising within a relevant Exclusion Period). However, it does not include cover for routine or elective dental work. Please see the PDS for more details and other exclusions.
